ABOUT THE HBCU PATHWAYS PROGRAM
What makes HBCU PATHWAYS different?
The HBCU Pathways Program was created to afford Black high school students an opportunity to learn more about post-secondary educational choices, prepare for college transition, and explore career options.
As designed, the HBCU Pathways Program includes a 12-month curriculum and access to a digital resource library that can be used as stand-alone programming, or augment existing program. The curriculum covers scholarship success, professional skills building, and in-depth information about career paths, including interviews with Black professionals across industries and disciplines.
Organizations that offer the HBCU Pathways Program locally may also include additional components:
- Test preparation
- Internship success
- College tours
For Students and Families
The HBCU Pathways Program welcomes students, parents, and families.
X Is Possible advocates for strong families and generational wealth. While the HBCU Pathways Program is designed for high school students, we encourage parents and other family members to join in the learning process.
For Nonprofit Organizations and Local Government
Providing Leadership and Consistent Programming through Difficult Times
- Coronavirus has forced students to reconsider their post-secondary educational and career plans.
- Local government agencies and nonprofit organizations must work together to provide resources to help students and families make informed decisions.
- Students access to counselors and college planning may be adversely affected by the new, virtual learning environments.
- The HBCU Pathways Program is an off-the-shelf solution for nonprofits and schools to offer consistent, premiere programming in a virtual environment.
Until our students know their history, they will not realize their endless potential.
